Yup, it’s now talked about to be on the way.

It’s been messed around with, played with and toyed with, but it still hasn’t quite had worldwide success yet. We’re placing our bets that it most likely going to occur in a mass production of ID cards.

It’s talked about to be happening in the oh so very near future.

A Look Back at Online Gaming

Today online gaming is just about as common as gaming itself. With services like XBox live and Playstation Online, you can connect with people all over the world and share your gaming experience. Massive multiplayer games like “The Matrix: Online” allow you to connect with thousands of others and share the experience as if you are living in an alternate reality. What many gamers do not know is that the trend of playing online started way before the Sony Playstation 2 and the XBox. It actually started with the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo.

The “XBand” was a device that players plugged into their system and hooked up via telephone line to access several different features such as an online magazine and “X-Mail.” By plugging certain games into the device, you could play with other XBand subscribers.

Today, online gaming is much more advanced. You have the ability to participate in games that consist of many other players and even voice chat. Nothing beats being told to go **** yourself by a 12 year old kid for losing a game of Socom! The XBand started it all.

Sharp’s 108 inch MONSTER!

Sharp unveiled their biggest screen yet - An absolute beast at 108 inches.
Probably not too good for the enviroment, methinks.

The world’s largest LCD screen (Commercially), it has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and also supports High Definition. Supporting 7.6 million colours, and weighing in at 200kg, it’s gonna be a hell of a job for the amazon delivery man.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, it’s £50,000.

The Internet Apocalypse (2012)

Is it just me, or is anyone else NOT looking forward to 2012? Will the plant Nibiru cross paths with the planet earth causing world wide geographical changes? Will the countless prophecies of our impending doom on December 21st of 2012 come to pass? Who has time to worry about all of that stuff? The internet may be running out in 2012 as well.

Statistically speaking, all of the available IP Addresses will be used up in 2011. This accompanies other unconfirmed rumors of the internet running out of bandwidth as well.

Personally, I feel it’s a sales pitch. The IPv4 system has 4.3 Billion available IP addresses, 85% of which were used as of last month. The newer IPv6 system, however; has unlimited IP addresses. I’d be willing to bet it’s also slightly more expensive as well.

Wii Spraycan - For those of us who like to indulge in virtual vandalism.

A Bauhaus University student, called Martin Lihs, has created a wiimote designed for spray painting on a TV screen. The controller basically looks like a mashed up wii-controller pulped into a spray can shape.

It started off as a simple art project, but could end up as much more than just that, with a wii-community of graffiti artists, using this innovative program, which includes many features such as a variety of paint colours and caps.

So, if you’ve always wanted to do some legit spray painting, here’s your chance.

iPhone 2 - Leaked Pictures

That’s right, guys - pictures of the new iPhone have been leaked.

These pictures show us what shape they’re going to be, and (if it’s real), the red iPhone! Random colours, methinks, but all the same, it looks cool.

They’ve also integrated 3G technology for iPhone to iPhone connection, wherever, whenever. There’s also a little IM service on it called iChat, so you can talk to your friends on the go! (Providing you’re near a wi-fi spot).

The Digital Magifying Glass: A Catch 22

She’s asked you to program her remote and fix her radio, now get ready for Grandma to request your assistance on setting up her brand new Magnifying Glass. The concept is simple, you move the eye over the text or image you’d like to view and it projects the image in larger form on your television screen.

So what’s the catch 22? Grandma can now read to herself, but she’ll still need you to teach her how to use it. Ready for another one? She can’t read the directions because she has to get it working in order to do so. Wow, catch 22’s galore. The device looks simple enough to use. I assume the knob is used to zoom in and out, and other than an on / off switch I can’t imagine there’s much more to it.

Mozilla Firefox 3 - The way to go?

Okay, so you open your brand new Windows Vista, and you see IE pre-installed. Decent. You then open your brand new Mac. Safari. Decent.
Mozilla? Why on earth would you need another browser if the one’s you already have are good?
Well I’ll tell you.

Not only is it faster, it blocks more pop-ups and general nasties providing a much better Internet experience. And it’s even better with the new version, 3.0 out.

Coming directly from a rather geeky guy, I’d have to be honest, and say that Mozilla is the best browser out there right now, and if you don’t have it, you ought to.

New Suit Amplifies Strength (Milk No Longer Needed)

Software Engineer, Rex Jameson, has developed a mechanical suit that detects body movements almost instantly and sends the information to a microcomputer which then assists you in your movement. The suit can amplify your strength up to 20 times.

According to the Army, we may see similar suits in battle. At home, however; there is a very mixed reaction. Some fear the inevitable birth of a super villain who will have similar abilities, while others take bets on whether or not Jameson will finally score with the neighbor girl he’s liked since grade school but never had the nerve to talk to.

Starbucks want customers, so what do they do? Free Wi-fi!

We all saw it coming - Starbucks was losing customers, and fast.

So they jumped on the bandwagon, to join the likes of McDonald’s and Airports everywhere, and made Starbuck’s a wi-fi spot! Well…great.

I bet that took them 2 beers in the local bar to think of that idea.

Do they seriously think that by offering Wi-Fi they can get more customers? Ha! Funny people. They need to sit down and rethink their plans. Everywhere offers wi-fi now, and to date, I’ve never seen anyone bring a laptop into Starbucks.

Oh well…at least when my internet dies on me, I’ll have somewhere to go.
